Our mission:

Independence Guide Dogs is dedicated to increasing independence for blind individuals.

Established in December 2011, Independence Guide Dogs (IGD) is a 501(c)3 organization. IGD trains and places the highest quality German shepherd guide dogs in the U.S. through its groundbreaking “Home to Harness” and “LIFE Training” programs. Clients receive their dogs free of charge.

IGD builds life-long relationships with its clients by designing custom programs that support them in achieving their personal and professional goals. IGD strives to be community oriented while setting standards for guide dog organizations worldwide. Our goal is to show our society that individuals with visual impairments can live full and prosperous lives with the proper training and appropriate tools.
